Recipient of the Golden Medal Award | 2010

In October 2010, Dr. Badalian organized the 1st Urogynecology and Female Urology Symposium dedicated to the 90th Anniversary Yerevan State Medical University. This worldwide symposium included faculty from the United States (Dr. Garo Tertzakian, Dr. Vatche Minassian), France (Dr. Revaz Botchorishvili), Israel (Dr. Michael Friedman)and Russia (Dr. Gevorg Kasyan, Dr. Vitaly Bezenar).

Due to the overwhelming success of this seminar, Dr. Badalian was awarded the jubilee Golden Medal of the University in recognition of his inestimable contributions and irreproachable work in the field of education, science, and medicine.

Groundbreaking Vitamin D Study | 2009

Vitamin D and Pelvic Floor Disorders in Women: Results From NHNES data

In April 2010,  “Obstetrics and Gynecology” published Drs. Badalian and Rosenbaum study on the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and pelvic floor disorders.

The study revealed a clinical correlation between patients with a vitamin D efficiency and urinary incontinence.

The study found that higher vitamin D levels are indeed associated with fewer pelvic floor disorders. The authors concluded that the treatment of vitamin D deficiency in all women could improve overall pelvic muscle strength, decreasing the likelihood of problems like urinary incontinence.
